Patricia Johnson

September 3, 1938 - March 15, 2015

Tribute

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a loving wife, mother and grandmother.  Pat passed away peacefully in the early hours of March 15, 2015 after a courageous but far too long battle.  Pat was the only daughter out of six children born to Heck and Myrtle Neff in Eyebrow, Saskatchewan.  She is survived by her son Dan Johnson; daughter Christine Johnson; her three granddaughters, aka “Nana’s Girls” as they were called, Taija, Terynn and Regann; two brothers Tim Neff and Cal Neff as well as many nieces and nephews and friends.  Pat was predeceased by her father, mother, three brothers and her husband Ivan of 40 plus years.

She moved to Moose Jaw with her family and enjoyed working at the Air Force base, as well as the Harwood Hotel and the Ambassador Café.  Pat married Ivan in 1968 and made their home in Abbotsford and had their two children.  She enjoyed being a football mom as well as a figure skater’s mom and always did what she could to help out, from early morning breakfast to making costumes.  In her later years she devoted herself to her grandkids, always being there; it truly was pure happiness for her.  We would like to thank Dr. Codio and the staff of Abbotsford Regional Hospital as well as Margaret Tyers and many other friends and family for your support.  A celebration of Pat’s life will be held Saturday, April 25 at 3:00 p.m. at the Eagles’ Hall, 33868 Essendene Ave., Abbotsford.

Rest in peace now Pat, you will be forever in our hearts.

Rest in peace Pat. You were like a second mom to me, knowing you and your family since I was 5 years old and being a family friend for all these years I always though of you as my adopted mom. I will never forget the most amazing loving hug you gave me last year after a lot of hard times in my family. Even while you were not well and had trouble standing you leaped out of that chair to hug and console me and give me your love. You will be forever remembered in our hearts and memories and forever loved. Give your Big guy Ivan a hug from us too! With Love.

Relation: Relationship - How did you know the deceased?

I worked at Galaxy Bowl in about 1975. I remember Pat bringing wee Christine in to the nursery there to be minded while Pat went to bowl. That was 40 years ago..and while I don’t remember many people from that time, I absolutely remember Pat. Such a very nice person-always friendly, always appreciative. Other than the kids, it was parents like her that made my job enjoyable! A very memorable lady…I am sorry for your loss!
