Peter Neumann

Tribute
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Peter Neumann at the age of 87. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Martha , on October 27, 2016. He will be forever loved and remembered by his daughters, Barbara (Bob), Patricia (Ed), Brenda (John) and Gayle (Brian); his grandchildren, Michael, Amy, Bradey, Alex, Jordyn and Emily and his great grandchildren, Nicholas, Darius and Tobyn.
Peter was born in Bredenbury, Saskatchewan, November 20, 1929 and spent his younger years on the family farm in Gem, Alberta. In 1945 the family moved to Sardis, B.C. Here Peter met the love of his life Martha (Penner). They enjoyed 66 years of life together. Upon marrying Martha they moved to Hardwick Island where Peter started his teaching career in a one room school house. The next 34 years were spent in Chilliwack where he was an elementary school principal with School District #33 until he retired in 1986. Peter was a strong proponent of education and earned his Bachelor of Education and Masters of Education, going to University in the summer breaks. After he retired he served as a Chilliwack School Board trustee from 1990 – 1996.
Upon retirement, Peter and Martha had many glorious trips around the world and enjoyed their family and grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on January 14, 2017. Details of time and location will be posted at www.wiebeandjeskefh.com.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.

I thought your dad was a sweetheart and it was kind of like working with my own dad. He was a man of empathy, clear strong principles and fierce strength for getting a job done.
He was also greatly P.O.d when a young lady crashed into his little Mazda on Chilliwack River Road.
I am sad for your double loss this year ladies.

So sorry to here of Peters passing. I was a student in grade 5 in 1970 when I first met Mr. Neumann, must of done something terribly bad for he made me stand by the piano in the hall in front of his office for quite a long time and think of what I did. A couple years ago I had the pleasure to work for him at his home. As I talked with him I realized what a nice person he really was, and that he had a very clever sense of humour. I will always cherish my memories of Peter. Regards Barry Evans
