born July 9, 1940 in Holland, passed away August 1, 2016 at home in Abbotsford. He is survived by his wife Ellen, son Aaron, grandchildren Reese and Hunter and other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his son Pieter Jan. Dr. Taams has been working in the field of Orthomolecular, Holistic, and Naturopathic Medicine since 1972. He pioneered vitamin therapies and mineral applications in British Columbia. He has treated many patients. He has degrees from Leiden State University Medical School, Vancouver General Hospital, Riverview Hospital, Ontario College of Naturopathic Med., and John Bastyr College of Naturopathic Medicine and has received several awards in recognition of his meritorious contributions. He had many hobbies including architectural design, photography, and animal husbandry; organic gardening and innovative care in longevity medicine.

An amazing man that will be very sadly missed! I have known and was treated by Dr Taams, for the last 11 years. On my last visit we chatted about who inspires us in our lives. I said well of course the Dalai Lama. Dr Taams then told me of his travels to treat the Dalai Lama sometime in the 1970’s. I have now added Dr Taams as one who has inspired me to believe in what I feel rather than what I see or hear. my condolences to all that knew him

The Families of The Gregsons, The MacDickens, and The Casorias – all from Maple Ridge – would like to send their very deepest and sincere condolences to the Taams’ family for their loss. Dr. Taams did wonders for all members of our families and he will be sorely missed by us. He was always working in our best interests – even when he was brutally frank about issues we had! The Light of the World is a little dimmer today.
