Robert Roy Elliott

April 30, 1946 - October 12, 2020

Tribute

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Roy Elliott, at the age of 74, in Mission, B.C. Born to Edith Florence (née Howlett) and William Spooner Elliott, in Viking, AB, he is survived by: his brother William John (Jack) Elliott, his four children, Sharla (Brady) Vander Woude, Tobi, Martin and Matthew (Roseanne), and seven grandchildren. Bob is predeceased by his loving wife of 30 years, Donna (née Hockin), and is deeply missed by his special friend and companion of later years, Gail McKintuck.
Bob served for 25 years in the R.C.M.P., retiring as a corporal, then working as a private investigator. Bob served in many small communities on Vancouver Island, Haida Gwaii and the Interior, working undercover for a time with the province’s Combined Law Enforcement Unit. He met Donna in Hope where she was working dispatch, and they moved to a small hobby farm in Abbotsford to raise beef, chickens and kids, and Bob commuted to work in Burnaby and Surrey for the remainder of his police career. Bob and Donna loved their church communities, traveling in Europe, and opening their country home to musicians, family and friends.

During the last decade of his life, Bob was actively involved with the Crown Point community where he lived, devoting his time to church, check-ins with his kids, cheering on Manchester United, and his longtime dog companion, Bella.
