Rosemarie (Rose) Gwen Rempel (Ismond)

August 31, 1946 - June 28, 2026

Tribute

Rose was a woman who brought people together with warmth, kindness, and an open heart. She cherished her family deeply, nurtured friendships that lasted a lifetime, and made everyone feel like they belonged—whether over coffee, a walk, a shared meal, or simply time spent together. Born in Toronto in 1946, she grew up alongside her sisters Sherrell and Virginia before settling in White Rock. She married in 1965, had her daughters Kristine and Trudie, who became her greatest joy.

Some of Rose’s happiest years were spent in Abbotsford, raising her daughters, surrounded by neighbors, coworkers, and friends who became family. She faced every challenge with resilience, worked hard to provide for her girls, and remembered every birthday no matter where she was. Her fierce love for her grandchildren was one of the defining joys of her life—she made each one feel special, supported, and deeply cherished. She was thoughtful, stylish, honest, always early, and always avoided left turns whenever possible. Her faith guided her, and she lived it through compassion, generosity, and a genuine ability to see the good in others.

As time passed, embracing life with joy, her love story with Henry began. In 2003 they were married, and together they built a beautiful life full of travel, laughter, and adventure. Rose was thrilled as her family grew to include John (Martina), Sheri, Denise and SIX more grandchildren. They were all so special to her. No matter how busy she was, she always made time for family.

Rose leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, strength, and unwavering devotion. Her spirit and the memories she created will continue to inspire everyone whose life she touched.

Psalm 23

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

From: Melody McDougall
Relation: Met her through Kristine

Rose exemplified goodness and warmth. Although I have not known her for long, meeting her and sharing a few special moments together left fond memories. In short, I liked her immensely. She lit the room up! I share in the sorrow with Kristine, Trudie and their families; Rose will always be with you no matter where you are.

From: Lois Thiessen
Relation: A great friend through Henry who was my husband's LONG time friend from childhood.

I’m praying for you especially this morning as you say goodbye. Rose was such a good friend and I will miss her a lot. We were supposed to have dinner at Milestones this week. But she has a much better ‘dinner’ where she is now. May God’s peace, as Rose knew it, be with you as a family.

From: Lois Thiessen
Relation: A wonderful friend ...

Rose was a light in this world. She made me a wonderful picture book of memories when my husband Rudy went to be with Jesus 5 years ago. Thanks Rose, I’ll treasure this book with your beautiful face in it. I loved her saying, “Give me strength”
