Ruth Eleanor Bremner (Classen)

Tribute
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Ruth Eleanor (Classen) Bremner on February 16, 2026.
Mom was born in Aberdeen, Saskatchewan to Henry G Classen and Sara (Niessen) Classen on October 15 in 1933 during the depth of the depression.
Her earliest memories are of growing up on the farm as the middle child, with two older siblings, Wesley and Lillian, and two younger sisters, Evelyn and Viola.
In 1944 they moved to Coaldale Alberta and then to Aldergrove BC in 1946 where Mom attended MEI. In 1950 her family moved to Vancouver as her parents became City Missionaries with the MB conference where they started Pacific Grace Mission & Chapel.
In 1954 she married Jake Wedel and they had three children, Sheryl, Wayne and Darrell. Jake left the family in 1962. In 1967 Mom married Robert Bremner who passed away in 1974.
Mom worked at Canada Post for about 20 years until her retirement in 2000. She moved to Richmond in the early 1980’s to be closer to her parents as they needed more support toward the end of their lives. In 1998 she moved to Abbotsford to be closer to some of her children and grandchildren.
Mom loved deeply and was generous in caring for us and for others. She thoroughly enjoyed visiting with her siblings and keeping in touch with her extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Her greatest delight was spending time with her children and their spouses, her seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren, exchanging hugs, watching them grow and celebrating milestones together.
Mom was deeply devoted to her faith in Christ, reading her devotions and praying for family everyday, and over the last 40 years attended Fraserview MB in Richmond and Highland Community MB in Abbotsford.
