April 23, 1920 - August 21, 2026
Tribute
Our beloved mother and grandmother passed after 106 years of life. She was predeceased by sons Neal and Lawrence, two daughters Grace and Marilyn. Survived by son Barry Washburn (Elizabeth); many grandchildren, great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews.
Ruth was born in Grande Prairie Alberta where she married the first of her five husbands. She lived the majority of her life in B.C. She was a soldier in the Salvation Army, volunteered many years in the soup kitchen until she had a stroke. She was a camper and a world traveler; she loved babies, little dogs and cats.
A special thanks to all the wonderful staff at New Vista care home in Burnaby. No service by request of mother. Ruth’s ashes will be placed in a cemetery in Carstairs, Alberta.
