Sandra Margaret Beggs (Seabrook)
July 8, 1944 - May 20, 2026
Tribute
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Sandra Margaret Seabrook Beggs, May 20, 2026. A woman of independent conviction and a wry sense of wit, Sandra lived a life defined by her enjoyment of family, her creative pursuits, and her sharp intellect. Born in London, England, on July 8, 1944, to Christopher Charles Seabrook and Margaret Gladys Seabrook (née Noad), Sandra emigrated to Canada as a teenager, with her brother and parents, settling in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She later moved west to Vancouver, BC, in the 1960s, finally relocating to Chilliwack in 2002.
Sandra (Sandy to many) had a long career in banking and then transportation infrastructure, including working for the Ministry of Highways and Transportation and Capilano Highway Services until her retirement. In retirement, Sandra loved to spend her winters visiting Hawaii, friends in Enderby, BC, and her trailer in Blythe, California. Closer to home, as an avid reader, Sandra spent countless happy hours reading many genres, particularly enjoying mysteries. Sandra was also very creative, focusing on artistic crafts, including stained glass work, candle-making, and rock painting. She also appreciated nature, holding a quiet affection for birds, flowers, and wildlife videos. Sandra valued time spent with her immediate family and closest friends, where she was known for her honest, strongly held opinions. She also greatly enjoyed the antics of Joey, her niece’s dog.
Sandra was predeceased by her parents and her brother and sister-in-law, Christopher John Seabrook and Margaret Seabrook (née Evans). She is survived by her niece, Christina Seabrook Brown; her nephew, Andrew Seabrook (Jaclyn Rea); her grandnephew, Shaun Brown (Patience Rector); her grandnieces, Alexandra Brown and Lindsey Brown Barnetson (Stewart Barnetson); and her great-grandniece, Madeleine Margaret Barnetson. Sandra’s legacy of independence, intellect, and family commitment will be remembered by those who loved her.
Donations can be made in Sandra’s honour at the Canadian Cancer Society and the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.

My very special long time buddy since grade 8 in Winnipeg. She was 1 day older than me , born on the 8th of July and mine on the 9th. I am heartbroken to find she has passed away. We shared many good times in Vegas and her visits to Enderby. Yes she had strong convictions and lived by them. I only wish I had another last visit with her. I followed her journey out to BC when I still lived in Winnipeg. Yes she was not shy and many times we got into minor trouble when we were teenagers. Rest in peace my dear old friend. Until we meet again.

Relation: Her very good friends daughter
So very sad to hear about Sandy’s passing. My Mom, Jane Bawtree (Solic) was a friend since grade 8 and Sandy was in her wedding party in Winnipeg. Their birthdays are only 1 day apart and it wasn’t until she went to send a birthday wish that we found out she had passed away. Dale and I spent many a holiday with Sandy in Las Vegas, Palm Springs with our Aunty Iris and Uncle Ken, and here in Enderby where we live. She was always so much fun and so easy to be around. It has been difficult to get together over the past number of years, but she will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by our family.
