Sheilagh Simpson

October 15, 1919 - March 6, 2016

Tribute

Sheilagh Colleen Simpson passed away peacefully in Abbotsford B.C., on March 6, 2016 after a brief illness.

She was born October 15, 1919 during the British Raj in India and had a unique and largely happy life in India, Britain, and Canada.  She was predeceased by her husband Arnold Simpson in 1996.  Although Sheilagh was a fiercely independent and determined woman she was extremely social and was loved by many relatives, friends and acquaintances.  She traveled on her own well into her 95th year and was still shopping on her own until a few months ago.

Sheilagh is survived by sisters Phyllis Moore and Gloria Roberts, daughter Carol and her husband Lalit Khosla, son Andrew and his wife Caroline and beloved grandchildren Anita, Lalita and their families and Gillian and Adele and their families and many nieces and nephews.

We will miss her intensely but recognize that her suffering is over and she is on to a better life.

From: BRETT SIBORNE - FLIGHT CENTRE SEVENOAKS MALL
Relation: ACQUAINTANCE

All of us at the Sevenoaks Flight Centre Travel Agency are sending our heartfelt condolences to Sheilagh’s family. We had the extreme HONOUR of knowing Sheilagh over the years and were able to help her with her many adventures to see family and friends. She would come in for her weekly visits on Saturdays as she would venture to the food court for her weekly piece of pizza. Her visits were always looked forward to and after she left – after leaving us with hugs – we would always have smiles on our faces. She was such a wonderful and unique lady – with many stories to share. She will be deeply missed by everyone. There is a VERY BRIGHT STAR looking down over all of us now – you will be missed Sheilagh.
From your Family at Flight Centre: Brett, Lisa, Heather, Missy, Shauna, Cynthia and Vanessa.

From: Marian Liedke
Relation: Relationship - How did you know the deceased?

I am so sorry about your loss. Sheilagh was a wonderful lady. I have helped her many times when she would grocery shop in the store where I work. Will miss seeing and talking with her. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

From: Anne Francis Ruttan
Relation: Acquaintance from the past.

Sending Andrew, Caroline and all the family my heartfelt and sincere condolences on the loss of Sheilagh; a shining star from my younger days. She was a humorous and engaging lady and I can never think of Sheilagh without remembering her heartiest and lilting laugh ringing out from the bottom of her heart. Rest in peace and in eternal light Sheilagh .
