Tribute

With heavy hearts we announce the loss of our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Sigrid passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in Abbotsford on September 2, 2026, with her son Robert and his wife Meg at her side.

Sigrid was born in Stuttgard, Germany, in November 1954, to her parents Frieda and Robert Pech. Sigrid was the youngest of 3 siblings; her brother Carl (deceased), her sister Bridgett (deceased). Growing up, Sigrid and her brother Carl were very close, they had a special bond.

Sigrid immigrated to Canada in 1956 at the age of 2. Sigrid’s parents and siblings landed in Montreal, but settled in Calgary, Alberta, where they opened a coffee shop. Sigrid’s parents both worked at their cafe. Big Brother Carl would often keep little Sigrid out of trouble while their parents where busy running their successful business.

Sigrid married twice; with her Daughter Debra from her first marriage, and Frieda and Robert from her second marriage.

Sigrid travelled to Ecuador with her husband Carlos and Frieda in 1980, and returned to Canada in late 1982 with infant son Robert being born in Ecuador. Sigrid then settled with her family in Aldergrove BC.

Sigrid worked as a driver for Handydart, and then started her career as a Hairdresser. Sigrid truly enjoyed hairdressing and loved taking care of her clients.

Sigrid loved watching horror movies. She enjoyed cooking, baking and crocheting. Sigrid had a passion for animals, and loved dogs big and small.

Sigrid is survived by her daughters Debra, Frieda and son Robert. Sigrid leaves behind her grandchildren Nicole, Dana, and Trevor, great grandchildren Olivia, Gracie and Peyton and Sigrid’s best friend Nesha.

Sigrid will be missed greatly by her family and friends. Sigrid will be remembered for her sense of humour, her infectious laugh and her big hugs. There is never enough time. Forever in our hearts.
