Tara Michelle Sudermann (Goodey)
May 5, 1975 - January 25, 2022
Tribute
It is with incredible sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of Tara on January 25, 2022 due to diabetes complications-Covid related.
She is pre-deceased by her dad Michael William Goodey. She is survived by her son Nicholas William Sudermann; mom Donna Goodey; sister Candice (Dean & Son Hayden) Mikkelsen and partner Chad Verestiuk. She is also survived by many, many relatives and friends.
Tara was born May 5, 1975 in Chilliwack. In 1980 Tara moved to Lahr, Germany with her family and really enjoyed the four years there. In 1983 she was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and battled her juvenile diabetes and its complications since she was eight, bravely and with a heart of courage. Since then she has had a lifelong journey of complications. In 1994 Tara graduated from Sardis Secondary School and then trained to be a hair stylist owning, at one time, Chatter’s Hair Salon and The Shear Shoppe.
In 1995 she and Christopher William Sudermann were married and in 2000 their son, Nicholas, was born.
Tara would help those in need and give her change to them, even at four years old. Tara was a fun-loving, caring, affectionate daughter, sister, friend to all and good mama – we miss you. From an early age she was Santa’s helper. She also filled food hampers for the community and in later years donated her clothes to women’s shelters and those less fortunate. Tara enjoyed camping with her friends and family, mostly to Birch Bay, and also family vacations to Las Vegas, Florida and Hawaii.
