Tribute
Tena (Tieny) De Jong was taken in the arms of her Lord to her heavenly home on November 15, 2019. Tieny was born on May 8, 1938 to John and Jacoba Hoogendoorn in Mijdrecht, Utrecht, The Netherlands. She was one of 13 children. Tieny is survived by her loving husband Henry, and four daughters: Mona (Harvey), Linda (Michael), Arlene (Bart) and Charlene (David) as well as her foster daughter Leanne (Ken). She also was blessed with five grandchildren: Chelsea, Geoffrey, Janessa, Daniel and Aria. Tieny is survived by four sisters, and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Tieny was selfless and lived to serve others.
She impacted many people throughout her life and was a beautiful example of Christian love. Tieny will be greatly missed.
A celebration of her life will be held Friday, November 22, at 1:30 pm at Trinity Christian Reformed Church, 3215 Trethewey St., Abbotsford.
