Tribute

Verna Frances Heppner, 83, of Abbotsford BC, died peacefully September 24, 2019.  Her husband and soulmate Robert Heppner, 5 children and their spouses, as well as 59 grandchildren, and great-grandchildren survive Verna.

Verna was a remarkable individual who embraced life and the adventures it offered.  She was a lifelong learner with an inquisitive mind whose interests covered many areas from working in the kitchen to creating beautifully crafted items, which she often gave away.  She loved to travel with her husband, enjoying time around a campfire or cruising on the lake.  She appreciated experiencing the diversity of many cultures and opportunities to support children and their families.  She saw every individual as valued members of God’s family who deserved opportunities to live lives filled with meaning and purpose.

Verna was passionate about building positive relationships.  She was committed to ensuring her family developed strong bonds with each other in spite of significant size and distance of travel between many family members.  Verna was especially committed to her spiritual relationship with Jesus.  Verna’s commitment to building strong family bonds was embedded with her belief that spiritual health is a vital ingredient to the harmony of her family.  While Verna’s immediate and extended family mourn the loss of a beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, they take great comfort in knowing she is in paradise today.

Celebration of Life Service held at Northview Community Church
