SCHUSTER, Vernon Jack – born in Vancouver Aug. 8, 1936, Vern passed away in Langley Memorial Hospital on Nov. 9, 2015, as a result of Mesothelioma. Predeceased by his wife, Rose; sister, Betty; brothers Ken and Bill; he will be sadly missed by his life partner, Pat; sisters Vivian and Annette; brother Larry and his nieces and nephews.
Vern enjoyed his retirement years, sharing experiences with family and good friends, especially Sandy & Charlie and Lil & Gene. Sincere thanks for the care and support of Dr. Rita Wittmann and all of the staff at Langley Memorial Hospital. No service at Vern’s request and flowers gratefully declined. I saw the obituary in the Sun and wondered if this was the same Verne that worked at Pacific Truck Years ago. If so, I remember him as a warm, fun person with a great sense of humour. The Pacific Truck building was insulated with blue asbestos and many of us are potential candidates for mesothelioma. Just wanted to say sorry for your loss and that I consider it a privilege having known and worked with Verne.
