Tribute
Walter Rennert passed away peacefully into the presence of his Saviour on May 31, 2017 at 88 years old. He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Irene Rennert, and his two brothers, Johann and Bruno. His two sisters, four children, eleven grandchildren, and two great grand-children will miss him dearly. Born in the village of Wymyschle, Poland, Walter emigrated to Paraguay with his family after the war. In Paraguay, he married Irene (nee Neufeld) and served as a missionary in the Chaco for many years before moving to Vancouver in 1967. Many knew him for his thoughtful sermons, his humor, his kindness, and his beautiful carpentry. Throughout his life, Walter’s contentment and positive outlook was an inspiration to those around him. The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at Menno Home who cared for Dad and Mom during the last years of their lives. The memorial service will be held at King Road Church at 11:30 on Friday June 9, 2017.
