It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wes after a two year battle with cancer at the age of 39. Born and raised in Chilliwack, Wes was a passionate man who loved life and showed love and kindness to everyone around him. West was an avid hunter, loved archery, fishing and trapping. He will be greatly missed by his wife Mieke; two daughters Abby and Jane; brother Jason (Leanne); father George; Mieke’s parents and siblings and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his mother Trudy last year. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 2nd at 2:30 p.m. at Chilliwack Central Community Church, 46100 Chilliwack Central Road. Wes and I worked for the same company a number of years ago, and he was always friendly and thoughtful when our paths crossed. We bumped into each other the last time while my wife and I waited for a table at a local restaurant. Even though he had already dined, Wes sat down and visited with me so we could catch up. There was something so likeable about Wes… He will be missed. Our thoughts are with the family.
