William (Bill) Cholodylo

February 9, 1934 - March 8, 2021

Tribute

CHOLODYLO,  William

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William (Bill) Cholodylo on March 6, 2021.  Bill is greatly missed by his wife of 43 years, Betty; his sons David (Geri) and Dan; as well as stepsons Alan and Les and other relatives and friends.

After serving in the Royal Canadian Navy during the Korean War he became an air traffic controller in Winnipeg.  He later moved to Mission and was a dispatcher for the RCMP until he retired. He remained a naval history buff his entire life.

Due to COVID protocols a service will not be held. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to B.C. Cancer or a charity that has special meaning to you.

We wrote your name in the sky, but the wind blew it away.

We wrote your name in the sand, but the waves washed it away.

We wrote your name in our hearts, and forever it will stay.

We honour a life that was lived to the full, we honour a spirit now free.

You’ll be long remembered, whenever we say:

“Fair winds and a following sea!”

My sincere condolences, Bill was a great guy, I always enjoyed talking with him at the RCMP detachment where he worked with my Dad, Vern.

Dear Betty, I am so sorry to hear of Bill’s passing. He was such a kind and gentle man and my garden is still graced with plants that he shared with me. I hope that all the happy memories will sustain you during this difficult time. Gina 604-852-2388

Relation: worked 26 years with Bill at Mission RCMP

I pray God will comfort you as you mourn Bill’s passing, that He would give you the peace of God that transcends all understanding to guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. It was a pleasure to work with Bill all those years.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6,7

From: Chuck Singh (retired)
Relation: He was my dispatcher

Belatedly I have heard about Bill’s passing. I am saddened by this as he was my dispatcher at my first posting in Mission Det. He had to suffer my rookie mistakes but did it it with a twinkle in his eye. I’ll always remember him telling me to take a left at an oak tree near Hatzic prairie so as to find a road where the call was taking place .
Rest well Bill. I’ll always remember you .
