Isolde Loewen (Czerny)
April 8, 1938 - August 17, 2018
Tribute
On August 17, 2018, Isolde passed away peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, after a short but intense battle with pancreatic cancer. Predeceased by her parents Josef and Erna Czerny and her two sisters, Inge (Terry) Rollins and Brigitte (Peter) Hay. She leaves behind her husband of 60 years, Victor Loewen; her sons Mark (Elly) and Mike (Cindy); her six grandchildren, Victoria, Jaclyn, Broderick, Zachary, Jacob and Sarah; and her brothers, Gustav/Ed (predeceased by Norma) Czerny and Rick (Lila) Czerny. Born in Poland, Isolde immigrated to Canada in 1949, was baptized at the age of 16 on confession of her faith at Bethel Mennonite Church in Aldergrove, and later became an active member of Peace Mennonite Church. She will be remembered for her volunteer work with MCC as well as an active student of the Bible – both in learning and teaching others. She was a dedicated wife and mother and was a special blessing in her role as Oma to her grandchildren. But, most of all, Isolde enjoyed a close personal relationship with her loving Savior, Jesus Christ, with whom she is now united. A celebration of her life will be held Friday, August 24 at 2 p.m. at Peace Mennonite Church, 11571 Daniels Road, Richmond. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Union Gospel Mission and MCC.

Vic, Mike, Mark and family – I was very saddened to hear about Isolde. She will always be a part the memories of my childhood growing up in Vancouver. An incredibly strong and kind women.
