Tribute

With heavy hearts we announce Ted’s passing in Chilliwack after a short battle with cancer.  Ted’s foremost importance was his family, of whom he is survived by his soulmate and loving wife of 53 years, Marg; sons Mike (Tracy) and Ryan (Lorie-Ann) daughter Ferrol (Rick), brother-in-law Dave (Sherri) and grandchildren Connor, Joe and Sophie.

One of Ted’s passions was fishing.  He spent hundreds of hours trolling lakes in the interior in pursuit of his elusive “Walter”.  Leighton Lake became his favorite, made so mostly by friends.  They gathered around the campfire each day at 6 a.m., drinking coffee and telling lies as members of the “Scuttlebutt Lodge”.  Ted’s other passion was baseball.  His favorite teams were the Abbotsford A’s, which he founded, managed and coached, as well as his beloved New York Yankees, which he could only coach from the living room.  Ted’s family will always love and miss him, but knows his spirit has not left.  He is reunited with his good boy Jiggs and loved forever by his wife Marg.  As per Ted’s request there will be no service.  In lieu of flowers please donate to your preferred charity.  We’d like to thank all the healthcare workers who brought Ted comfort in his last days.
