Annie Krahn (Neufeld)

April 19, 1925 - September 21, 2023

Tribute

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Annie Krahn at the age of 98. Annie passed away peacefully at the Christine Morrison Hospice September 21.

In Heaven, she joins her beloved husband, Henry, (1923-1992) and her much loved daughter-in-law, Lorraine Krahn (1951-2021).

Annie was born in Neuendorf, Ukraine. She was the oldest child of Henrich and Katharina Neufeld and had 6 younger siblings. She married Henry Krahn in November of 1946 and in 1948 they journeyed to Canada on the RMS Aquitania in hopes of a better life for themselves and their future family. Annie and Henry had four children, Art, Walt, Rob, and Debbie. Not only did Annie help raise four children, but she loved working alongside her husband Henry on their dairy farm. Annie loved farm life and continued to be interested in farming long after they retired.

Annie was a member of River of Life Church and loved the community and fellowship she experienced there over the 72 years since she arrived in Greendale. She was an avid sewer and quilter. Annie loved gardening, baking, and cooking – especially the food her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren loved. The family will remember her outstanding meals, her specialties that appeared during the Christmas season, her amazing mending skills, and most of all her unwavering unconditional love for them. She was devoted to God and her family and kind to all who crossed her path.

Annie leaves behind her children: Art and Susan, Walt (Lorraine, predeceased), Rob and Kathy, and Debbie and Brian; 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

The family is incredibly grateful to have had their mom, grandma and great grandma for so many years. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her, but we rejoice knowing that she is with her Lord and Saviour.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Annie’s name to MCC BC, an organization dear to Annie’s heart.

Larry and I are deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Annie. She was a wonderful person who touched the lives of many. She certainly touched ours.

When we moved to Greendale we were welcomed by your parents and over the years we always felt blessed that Annie and Henry lived next door.

Your mother supported me when I needed help most. I have never forgotten her kindness and my gratitude has never abated. To me, she was a good woman who truly lived and practiced her faith.

She had a remarkable life and will mourned by all who knew her. We share your sorrow and your celebration of her life.
