Beatrice ((Bette)) Rolph (Roberts)

Tribute
It is with deepest sorrow we announce the passing of Bette on November 30, 2014 in Chilliwack BC surrounded by her loving family after a short brave battle with cancer. Bette was born in Lethbridge AB on June 21, 1930 to Emerson and Mayetta Roberts (Schinnour) and was raised in Foremost AB. She met Derek, the love of her life in Calgary AB; they married in 1951 and had 62 wonderful years together. Their RCAF life took them to many places. They spent 3 years overseas, and Bette celebrated her 30th birthday in Paris. They returned to Alberta where their children were born and camped across the country to Newfoundland to begin another great 2 year experience. From there, they went to Ottawa. Derek retired from the RCAF in 1974, and they moved to Sidney BC where they both worked for Viking Air and retired together in 1994. They moved to Chilliwack where they met many new friends and continued to enjoy life and enjoy their favourite passion, RVing. Bette loved getting out in the trailer and was very sad when they finally had to give it up. Bette is predeceased by her parents Emerson and Mayetta, sister Dorothy, brother Bob, and her dear husband Derek. She is survived by her daughter Darcie (Bob Jones) and grandson Colin of Sooke BC; son Bruce and grandchildren Derek, Tyler, Sarah, Kristopher and Shayla of Alberta; sister Charlotte Lawson (Rick) of Victoria BC; brother Bill Roberts (Nipa) of Thailand. Nieces and nephews Blake, Leslie, Raelene, Charlene, Shannon, Don, Rick, Jeff, Aaron. She loved her visits with great-niece Makayla and great-nephews Cayden, Kesler and Jace. Mom, Sister, Aunt and Great Auntie TeeTee, she was the best.
Interment will follow at a later warm sunny day at Holy Trinity Church in Sidney BC.

We are so very sorry to hear about Bette’s passing. Both Ron and I have many happy memories of Derek and Bette being our neighbour’s and good friends for the past 40 years. Bette and I spent many hours on the phone, reminiscing and laughing about “remember when”…she had such a wonderful sense of humor.
I will dearly miss her and am so fortunate to have had such a great friend.
