Edwin Hein

November 15, 1932 - November 26, 2020

Tribute

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our Dad, Edwin.  He was a husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.  He was predeceased by his loving wife, Florence, his parents Julius and Marta, brothers, Edward and Werner and his sister, Elsa.  He leaves behind his son Jeffrey (Hanna), daughter Allison (Max) and his grandchildren Nicole, Shantelle, Connor and Carson, and brother Fritz (Kathy).  There are also numerous nieces and nephews.

Edwin spent his early years in Latvia where he was born.  He and his family immigrated to Canada in 1952.  He moved to Vancouver where he met his wife, Florence and they were married in 1956.  They relocated to Richmond, White Rock and finally settled in Abbotsford in 1975 where he opened Country Flair Men’s Wear at Sevenoaks Mall and worked until his retirement in 1995.  At the age of 88, he passed away peacefully at The Residence in Mission (TRIM).  He will be greatly missed.

We would like to thank Dr. Carol Pomeroy and the staff at TRIM who took such good care of Edwin over the last 4 ½ years.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to BC Alzheimer’s Society or the charity of your choice.

Hello Jeff and Allison. I was sorry to hear of the passing of your father. Ed was truly a gentleman. I enjoyed the time I spent with him years ago in DeMolay, and while shopping at Country Flair. My condolences to you and your families.

Relation: former pastor

Dear Jeffrey and Hanna, Allison and Max, my sincere condolences to you. I have fond memories of both your dad and your mom. God keep you.

From: Margaret Hein-Wiebe
Relation: I am not aware that we are related. It is always to pleasure to meet more Hein families!

I take this opportunity first to send condolences at your father’s passing! I am a Hein who grew up in Saskatchewan. We enjoy connecting with other Hein families since there are not many of us. Our Grandpa, Cornelius Hein, was born in South Russia, in the Molotschna Colony – a Mennonite community. He came to Canada as a young boy with his father, brother and step-mother.
