Celebration of Life will be held at the Abbotsford Church of the Nazarene on Friday, September 16th at 12pm. A viewing will be at 11am with a lunch to follow the service at 1pm.
Eldon passed at 4:40am on September 8th at the Fleetwood Care Home in Surrey, BC.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Giles, who faithfully stood by him for 60 years, along with his younger sister Leigh Matthews and older sister Lorna Pollock. He is also survived by his son, Kelly Giles, who loved Pops for embodying love so profoundly, by his daughter, Shauna Ryall, who loved her dad whole heartedly, and her three children Melissa, Scott and Thomas Holmes who were blessed to have been so close to him.
Eldon was born in Red Deer Hill Saskatchewan. A hard working man, Eldon spent most of his life as a Sherwin Williams paint salesman. He is remembered for his love of God and family. Eldon passionately pursued Patricia Giles and they went on to have two wonderful children and three loving grandchildren. Eldon will forever be remember as having a cup of coffee in his hand, a loving smile on his face, and a kind heart.
Eldon was a loyal Saskatchewan Rough Riders fan and faithful Vancouver Canucks fan. He attended the Alliance church in Victoria most of his life and will always be remembered for his cheerful, positive attitude and eagerness to help out anywhere he could. A true man of God, Eldon is surely with the Lord.

He knew you were in pain.

So He closed your weary eyelids
And whispered “peace be thine”.
It broke our heart to lose you.
But you did not go alone.
For a part of us went with you
The day God called you home.

Our family saw a lot of the Giles family when they lived in Victoria and then we lost track of each other after they moved to the mainland. I have thought of the family over the years and had heard that Eldon had been injured. This morning I came across Shauna’s story on the internet of the accident and was so sad to read about it and to see his obituary. Sending condolences to Pat, Kelly, Shauna and family from the Tomlinson family.
