Kathleen (Pat) Patricia Blackett (Anderson)

May 13, 1931 - January 12, 2024

Tribute

In loving memory of Pat Blackett, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother,
and cherished friend, who passed away on January 12, 2024.
Pat was a beacon of love and grace, touching the lives of all who were fortunate enough
to know her. She was born on May 13,1931, and spent 92 years spreading kindness
and warmth to everyone around her.
A true animal lover, Pat found joy in the company of furry friends and often extended her
compassion to all beings. Her love for animals reflected the kindness that she exuded in
every aspect of her life. She volunteered at Elizabeth’s Wildlife Centre and at many
community events. She was a longtime member of the Abbotsford Curling Club and
Trinity Memorial Church.
She lived her life with a spirit of resilience and never complained, facing challenges with
unwavering strength. Pat was a source of inspiration, demonstrating the beauty of a life
well-lived through her selflessness and generosity.
She was a woman who lived for her family. As a mother, Pat instilled values of love,
kindness, and compassion in her family. Her legacy lives on through her children, Edie
(Kenn) Hayden, Rob (Dawn) Blackett, Susan (Doug) LeClair, Cindy (Mark) Loewen and
Barb (Glenn) Roberts; grandchildren Carrie (Kevin) Enns, Matthew (Shannon) Hayden,
Amy (Garret) LeClair, Emily (Tate) MacIntyre, Adam (Mandy) Roberts, Eric (Christina)
Roberts, Alina Blackett and Isabel (Vlad) Loewen; and great-grandchildren Charlotte,
Jay, Zack, Brady, Georgia, Poppy and Frankie, who carry forward the lessons of grace
and empathy she shared. Pat was predeceased by her husband, Al, who she loved and
missed dearly. The family takes comfort in knowing they are reunited.
Pat will be remembered for her warm smile, gentle spirit, sense of humour, strong faith,
and the love she showed others. In our hearts, she will forever remain a beacon of love
and a testament to a life well lived.
A funeral will be held February 24th  at 11:00am at Trinity Memorial United Church. In lieu
of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Elizabeth’s Wildlife Centre in
her honor.
“Spread your wings as you go, and when God takes you back, he’ll say Hallelujah
you’re home.”

Our sympathy to the entire family in Pat’s passing. We always admired how good her family was to help Pat over the years. Her example of love and caring shone through you all. May you hold close the many happy times spent together. When we first moved here Pat and Al made us feel so welcome as members of Trinity United Church. We will always cherish the many visits we had with them. May your many happy times together carry you through the months ahead as well as knowing she and Al are together again and free of any more suffering.
