Sylvia Helen Marie Kasper (Hildebrandt)
February 22, 1936 - November 4, 2023
Tribute
On November 4, 2023, Sylvia Helen Marie Kasper (formerly Sylvia Hildebrandt) stepped peacefully into the presence of her heavenly Father to celebrate eternity with Him. Sylvia leaves behind her three children: Debbie (& Spence Henderson); Sandy (& Gerald Thiessen); and Doug (& Carma Kasper); her seven grandchildren; and an impressive brood of great-grandchildren, all of whom miss her dearly.
While her loss is felt keenly by all of us who love her, she goes to meet her heavenly father and her late husband, Ike.
Born in Waldheim, Saskatchewan on February 22, 1936, Sylvia moved across Canada with her family to British Columbia, where she lived and worked in Vancouver, Abbotsford, and Chilliwack, laying her roots in the Fraser Valley after marrying Ike Kasper in 1955.
Anyone who knew Sylvia would tell you she liked to keep busy and had an optimistic outlook on hardship, approaching any issues that arose practically and with consistency. Her strong faith in Jesus, steadiness of character, and strength seemed to accompany her in every interaction, and she had an incredible appreciation for the simple joys of life. She leaves a legacy of faithful service and a deep sense of the importance of family and prayer

What a beautiful tribute and a beautiful life. We are so thankful for the friendship that your Dad & Mom enjoyed with our Dad & Mom. We are also thankful for the “reunion” our Moms were able to share this past year. Now, we are thankful that Sylvia is with the Lord, “whole” again, free from confusion, and with our Savior. She was a beautiful lady with incredible qualities that the Lord used. Hugs to all. Hold onto the good memories.
